New York Hall of Science

USA created several complex components to support the NY Hall of Sciences expansion. A large outdoor ball run allowed kids to follow 6" diameter balls from a 40 high lift through a maze of spirals and winding tubes. There are several points at which the kids can control the ball movement such as the pachinko panel. USA also fabricated a 20 ft. long nitrogen filled aluminum periscope with a 2x magnification system using an 8-degree field of view and an array of six reflective custom mirrors.

THE SCIENCE PLAYGROUND

Designed by New York Hall of Science staff and a team led by BKS/K Architects, the 30,000 square-foot Science Playground includes over two-dozen playground elements, an outdoor dining area, a landscaped park and a colorful, inviting, resilient play surface made of six-inch thick ground rubber.
