Nauticus, the National Maritime MuseumNauticus, the National Maritime Center, located on the downtown waterfront in Norfolk, Virginia, is a science and technology center exploring the power of the sea. USA produced numerous hands-on exhibits as well as display areas to aid visitors in their exploration.SCULPTURAL INTERACTIVESAmong the many exhibits that USA created for this water-themed museum is a 10 long replica of a novelty store wave machine. It acts as the themed marquee entrance, with many informative graphics and directional signs, and is positioned at the top of the museums main entrance. Other interactive exhibits included a bioaccumulation ball run that simulates toxins building up in the food chain, a 5 high salt shaker illustrating the amount of salt in the oceans in relation to the Empire State Building, submarine games that show how air can be used to raise or lower a submarine and Fishing for Resources, which allows the visitor to fish for bobbers with graphics attached.Exhibit Development Team: Client: National Maritime Museum Design: USA & Client Engineering & Fabrication: USA General Contractor: Maltbie |
