Angel Mounds

Angel Mounds State Historic Site is nationally recognized as one of the best preserved Native American sites in the United States. This museum explores a people who lived on this site from 1100 to 1450 A.D. The town on this site was home to people of the Middle Mississippian culture who engaged in hunting and farming on the rich bottom lands of the Ohio River. This historic site in Evansville, Indiana, was completely overhauled by USA. The original exhibits, installed in the early 1970’s, were replaced with scenic and interactive exhibits that depict prehistoric Native American life on the Ohio River. Using materials similar to those used in the original construction, USA made life-cast figures prepare meals, hunt, fish, and play games throughout the exhibit.
